What CraftlyNow is, why it exists, and who it is built for.

CraftlyNow

Day 001 — 100 Startups Challenge

CraftlyNow is a knowledge curation tool that lets you build structured courses out of YouTube videos — with transcripts, AI-generated summaries, and shareable public or private links.

The problem it solves

Developers and builders watch a lot of YouTube videos to learn. The problem is not finding a single video — it is that the useful ones get lost.

You watch something important. A month later you want to reference it again. You cannot find it. Or you want to send a bundle of relevant videos to a teammate and there is no good way to do that.

YouTube playlists exist but they are passive. You get the video and nothing else. No transcript. No summary. No ability to highlight what actually matters inside a 1-hour video. No public discovery of what other builders are curating.

CraftlyNow solves this by turning a collection of YouTube videos into a structured, searchable, shareable knowledge base.

What it is

Think of it as a cross between a YouTube playlist and a lightweight Teachable-style course — but built for reference and knowledge retention, not school-style learning.

Each course is a curated list of YouTube videos. Each video inside the course gets:

  • Auto-pulled YouTube metadata (title, description, thumbnail)
  • A transcript pulled directly from YouTube
  • An AI-generated summary written into an editable description field
  • A TipTap rich text editor field for manual notes and additional context

Courses can be kept private, shared via a unique link, or published publicly to the CraftlyNow landing page where anyone can discover and use them.

Who it is for

Primary: Builders — developers, vibe coders, designers, content creators, and anyone who uses YouTube as a learning resource while building products.

Not for: Music playlists, general entertainment, or passive watching. CraftlyNow is a performance tool for people who learn to build.

Use cases:

  • A developer curating everything they have learned about building with Supabase into one shareable reference
  • A designer collecting the best UI/UX content for a specific design challenge
  • A founder sharing a course with their team to get everyone aligned on a topic fast
  • Anyone building their own AI bot who wants to feed it structured video knowledge

Current status

Day 001 build. MVP in progress.

The goal for day one is a working demo that can be validated with a small group of friends and early community members.
